East Of Sideways Music is proud to add Michael Jarret to our roster of songwriters and recording artists. Michael has a long and storied history in the music business writing songs, recording and performing. Amongst his many accomplishments, he honed his musical chops on the road playing with Jerry Lee Lewis, he performed in a trio with the legendary guitarist Jimmy Bryant, and he also wrote two hit songs for Elvis Presley.
Michael wrote "I'll Be Home On Christmas Day" for the hugely popular "Elvis Sings the Wonderful World of Christmas" album, which is one of the all-time bestsellers in the Presley catalogue. He also penned "I'm Leavin'" for The King which was released as an A-side single and reached #10 on the charts. "I'm Leavin" had a great deal of significance for Presley, who often referred to it as “one of my favorite songs”, and he always enjoyed performing the tune on stage during his final years.
Michael's first CD release for EOS is "Journey Into Love," an outstanding collection of musical tracks co-written with the talented singer/songwriter, Trevor McShane, another East Of Sideways artist. "Journey Into Love" is a wonderful mélange of styles, consolidating jazz, rock, r&b, pop, and a dash of electronica into a funky musical ride that is one of the most unique concept CD's ever produced.
